🐾 Citroen C5 Ride Height Adjustment
C6 Corvette General Discussion - Raising trim height / ride height for increased ground clearance - tried it, and - While most here at the forum prefer to lower their ride height for aesthetic purposes, I and a few others prefer to raise the ride height in the name of keeping the bottom of the car from getting
On a good road surface, at motorway speeds, Citroën C5 lowers its ride height by up to 15mm at the front and 11mm at the rear to improve fuel consumption and further enhance stability. On a poor road surface, travelling more slowly, Citroën C5 raises its ride height by up to 13mm to improve road-holding and comfort, and to prevent damage to
The adjustable spring seats are only available on the Z51 optioned Corvettes. You can NOT adjust the ride height on a non-Z51 C8 Corvette. The adjustable spring seats on a Z51 optioned Corvette are identical regardless of whether you order Magnetic Selective Ride and they are adjusted manually in the same manner as well.
When the C5 first came out our club had stock ride height as one of the pure stock requirements for our club autocross points. Having numerous GM tech engineers in our club we used ride height checking at the rear of the jacking points as the criteria. The front measurement was 6" and the rear was 6.25.
Whenever you lower your car get a wheel alignment. Even in stock bolts. On the stock bolts you will get about 3/4" to 7/8" avg drop. Lowering your car will lower the center of gravity, helping handling. To tell you the truth you will probably not feel much diffrence lowering your car on stock bolts.
Ride Height Make sure you measure the ride height before you take any readings. The Corvette does not use coil springs. Instead, it uses composite material springs mounted transversely. Bolts are mounted control arms to make the adjustment. Adjusting the ride height before an alignment can minimize adjustments for camber and caster. Front 1
Wheels off. Floor jack or bottle jack and position it near the end of the leaf spring and raise it to relieve the pressure on the adjusting bolt. Crank it up. release the jack pressure and do the other 3 wheels the same way. Shocks are used to dampen wheel rebound and such, not control the height.
Citroen C5 Mk III - Suspension issues. I've got the Hydractive III+ suspension. I've noticed recently some odd things (I should point out I rarely use Sport mode, all the observations below are in Normal mode): (1) from Normal height, I used to press the 'down' button to lower it, the front would go down first followed by the rear and a diagram would show up in the driver's console indication
at speeds of more than 110 km/h on well surfaced roads, the BHI lowers the front of the car by 15 mm and the rear by 11 mm. This improves vehicle stability by lowering its centre of gravity, lowers fuel consumption by reducing drag and makes the car less sensitive to crosswinds. The car returns to its standard ride height when speed drops below
C3 Tech/Performance - 69 Stingray rear suspension ride height adjustment - Hi everybody, just purchased this awesome 69 350/350 4 speed, hard top equipped, and the rear is too high. I have looked at various sites, and exact description of the procedure to lower the ride height is non-existing. Can anybody please
Start with raising each corner 4 or 5 turns. Drive the car for a few days and see if that works. If not keep adjusting up in 2 turn increments until you get the height you want. Hopefully, when you are finished, the car will be a little lower than stock. After a few weeks of happiness, have the alignment checked. Dave
lonfa. learned-It's a common problem with C5's "caused by, generally, a dodgy hyd pump electric motor with a build up of brush carbon shorting out and blowing that 40amp maxi fuse. every time you manually 'lift' the car with the pump, It blows the fuse.
